Biggam Fox Skinner LLP Proudly Supports Kids' Chance of Vermont

Kids’ Chance of Vermont is the statewide chapter of Kids’ Chance of America. The organization encourages children to seek higher education and university courses after a parent becomes seriously injured or passes away on-the-job. It does so by creating scholarships, organizing specialized courses, networking students with other groups that provide similar services, and so forth. Right now, Kids’ Chance of Vermont is holding its National Kids’ Chance Awareness Week and Planning for the Future Initiative — and you can team up with Biggam Fox Skinner LLP to help!

Our Vermont workers’ compensation attorneys are always looking for new ways to support the people of our communities. The ongoing National Kids’ Chance Awareness Week is a prime opportunity to do just that. We are happy to take this chance to spread the word, bring much needed attention to Kids’ Chance of Vermont, and hopefully encourage more people to support this great organization.

To date, Kids’ Chance has collectively uplifted more than 5,500 children with scholarships that total to more than $20 million in worth. Kids’ Chance of Vermont in particular has awarded five scholarships since 2014 with a total value of about $51,000.

National Kids’ Chance Awareness Week

Biggam Fox Skinner supports Kids’ Chance of Vermont and is excited to announce National Kids’ Chance Awareness Week from November 12-16. On Wednesday November 14, Governor Phil Scott will sign a Governor's Proclamation officially declaring November 12th to 16th as National Kids’ Chance Awareness Week throughout the state.

Partner and Attorney Heidi Groff is the current vice president of the Vermont chapter. This connection with our law firm has made it simple for us to be supportive throughout the years. If you are out of work due to a serious workplace injury and you have a child at or approaching college age, get in touch with us to see if we can help. What is the Planning for the Future Initiative?

When a parent suffers an on-the-job injury, the unfortunate truth is that many children old enough to find work will drop interests in advanced education in order to try to fill in the income gap created due to the debilitation. The Planning for the Future Initiative is focused on giving children in such situations a chance to keep pursuing a college degree by offering scholarship opportunities and allowing injured parents to connect with workers’ compensation attorneys in their area. If you have a child who is in college or close to finishing high school, and you have been debilitated or disabled due to a work injury, please consider contacting Kids’ Chance of Vermont and asking about the Planning for the Future Initiative.
