Paralegals

Chris O’Neill

Chris O'NeillWhen people are injured they feel that no one understands what they are going through; they aren’t getting paid as much as they were before they were injured, they have families to support, and they feel that no one cares.

I enjoy my job because everything I do every day is to help to get injured people the benefits they are entitled to, which allows them to focus on healing.

I was born at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin and lived in Montpelier until I was two. I’ve lived in Waterbury, Vermont, ever since. I have one brother, one half sister and many friends who have become like sisters and brothers. Family is very important to me.

I enjoy cooking, baking, photography. I love the ocean, walking on the beach, all kinds of animals big and small. I am fascinated with how things work and how things are built. I love flowers and gardening, it is miraculous how you can throw a seed in the ground and with sun and water it will grow into a beautiful flower or yummy fruits and vegetables.

Kim Daniels

Kim Damiels
I joined Biggam, Fox & Skinner in 2004 and work with the attorneys exclusively on social security disability claims. My previous employment was as a guidance counselor as well as a hospital chaplain working with patients in ICU, rehabilitation, hospice, and ER units. In the summers during college and grad school I was part of the recreational staff arranging activities for children and adults with mental, emotional, and/or physical disabilities. Given my background, it was a natural transition to join a law firm specializing in disability claims, as it allows me to continue along the lines of my past work, but from a different perspective, which I thoroughly enjoy. I like knowing I’ve had a direct hand in helping individuals and families obtain the financial and medical benefits they need during a very difficult time in their lives.

My parents are both from Vermont: my mother from Brattleboro and my father from Randolph. However I grew up near Mount Monadnock in southern New Hampshire, attended UNH and Keene State, and have since lived in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio, and currently Northfield, VT. I have three children who are older and living on their own. I enjoy reading novels, political blogs, ‘simple living’ blogs, and gardening magazines. My hobbies include writing fiction, family genealogy research, making household items and furniture from reclaimed materials, tending to my perennial gardens, and hiking in the woods.

Tasha Bushey, Disability Paralegal

Tasha Bushey
I am a native of Vermont and have lived here most of my life. I love the green grass in the spring, colorful leaves in the fall, and the large snow piles in the winter. However, I love to explore. I have traveled to almost every country in Europe and plan on continuing to do so throughout my life. I have two older brothers, an older sister, and two younger sisters, which makes me the middle child. I have three nephews and a niece who are as precious as gold. I got married in January of 2009 and my husband and I hope to start a family soon.

I graduated from Castleton State College with an A.S. in Criminal Justice in December of 2006 as well as a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology in May of 2007. I plan on attending Vermont Law School in the near future.

I have had experience working with the Department of Corrections in Vermont as a correctional officer as well as an intern at the Department of Probation and Parole. I also worked in a Juvenile Detention Facility as a residential counselor. Now, I work as a Legal Assistant at Biggam, Fox & Skinner in their Social Security department. I am a part of a team of four people, two attorneys, a paralegal and legal assistant, who work together to help assist deserving people in collecting their disability benefits. The thing that I enjoy the most about my job is having the opportunity to speak with, help, and assist some of the worthy people in my community who really need our help with their claims. The legal system is complex and confusing, but it is also my passion.
